The Student Council

The Objectives of Establishment

The student council of the department of Applied Mathematics of National Chiao Tung University is entrusted by the whole member. According to the spirit of the students' self-governing, the student government develops the coordination sociability of the members, improves the academic atmosphere, maintains the communication between departments and within department, collaborates the office of the department of Applied Mathematics dealing with the students' services, plays the role of the negotiate between the university's administration and the member, and fetches for the maximum welfare of the members.

The Organization

The council is accepted by the university and the department as the highest student government group, and it is established by the undergraduate students in school. The council is composed by two main organizations, the administrative unit and the camp-preparing unit.

Administrative Unit

The council founds the administrative unit, which is led by the chairmen of the council, as the administrative organization of the council. The unit is in charge of planning and implementing the affairs of the council.

The duty of the divisions of the administrative unit is listed below:
1. Activity division：The division is in charge of the planning and conducting all the recreational activities. The division could set up a vice director and members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
2. Academic division：The division is in charge of the planning and conducting all the activities of literature and art. The division could set up a vice director and members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
3. Art division：The division is in charge of the production of the posters, decoration of the activities, manufacture of the cards, and so forth. The division could set up members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
4. Secretary division︰The division is in charge of promoting the information of activities. For example, the BBS promotion, annual addresses phone book production, etc. The division could set up members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
5. Equipment division︰The division is in charge of the management and the usages of equipments belong to the council. Besides, the division provides human resource for every activity. 6. Photography division︰The division is in charge of the manufacture of the photograph and files of the council's activities. The division could set up members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
7. Livelihood division︰The division is in charge of the preparation of the food, holding the events of the buy-together. The division could set up members, appointed by the chairmen of the council.
8. Sport division：The division is in charge of leading athletes anticipate competitions between universities, departments, and classes. Furthermore, the division is responsible for the leadership of the Co-ordination of the Big-Math Cup, North-Math Cup.
9. General affairs division︰The division is in charge of the management and making entries of every income and outcome of fund. At the end of the semester, the division is responsible for producing a financial disclosure and publication.

Camp-Preparing Unit

The council founds the camp-preparation unit, which is led by the chairmen of the council, as the administrative organization of the council. The unit is in charge of planning and implementing the applied mathematics camp. The camp-preparation unit sets CEO, general affair, activity, study, equipment, promotion, livelihood, photography team. Every team has one leader who is appointed by the activity chief organizer of the unit.

Substance of Work

The council Hosts the events of the department, activities between schools, cup game, alumni reunion, and so forth. The council also plays a role of information deliver and suggestion responder between students and school, department, after-school organization. Moreover, Fighting for welfare is one of the council's purposes.
